AMI Instruments is proud to have participated in IUCr 2026, the 27th Congress and General Assembly of the International Union of Crystallography, held August 11–18, 2026 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Hosted at the Calgary TELUS Convention Centre, this triennial congress is the world’s leading gathering for the global crystallography and structural science community, bringing together researchers, educators, and industry leaders from every corner of the field.
The IUCr Congress is held every three years and has long served as the central forum for scientific exchange, collaboration, and advancement across all areas of structural science, from X-ray diffraction and crystal structure determination through to materials characterization, biological macromolecular structure, and cutting-edge diffraction instrumentation.
The 27th IUCr Congress and General Assembly gathered thousands of crystallographers and structural scientists from around the world in Calgary’s state-of-the-art convention facilities. The scientific program spanned the full breadth of crystallography and structural science, from fundamental diffraction theory to the latest advances in instrument design, data collection methods, and structure determination algorithms.
Calgary, renowned for its natural landscapes, proximity to the Canadian Rockies and Banff National Park, and thriving research community, provided an inspiring setting for one of the most significant events in the structural science calendar.
Location: Calgary TELUS Convention Centre, Calgary, Alberta, Canada | Dates: August 11–18, 2026 | Format: In-person

Powder X-ray Diffraction | Single Crystal Diffraction | Electron Crystallography | Neutron Diffraction | Macromolecular Crystallography | Phase Analysis | Crystal Structure Determination | Materials Characterization | Energy Materials | Instrumentation and Methods | Synchrotron & FEL Sources | Pharmaceutical Crystallography
AMI Instruments participated in IUCr 2026 alongside STOE & Cie GmbH, AMI’s partner for X-ray diffraction instruments, representing AMI’s XRD product portfolio at Booth 39 on the exhibition floor. The IUCr exhibition brings together the world’s leading crystallography instrument manufacturers in direct conversation with the scientists and researchers who rely on XRD technology daily, making it one of the most important venues for AMI and STOE to connect with the global structural science community.
With a product portfolio spanning powder and single-crystal X-ray diffractometers, gas adsorption and physisorption analyzers, reactor systems, thermal and gravimetric analyzers, and true density analyzers, AMI plays an active role in enabling precise materials characterization at the intersection of structure and performance — exactly the research questions at the heart of the IUCr Congress program.
Participants at Booth 39 had the opportunity to explore AMI’s XRD instrument range, including the Lattice Series benchtop powder diffractometers and the Nexus Series integrated XRD–sorption analysis platform, and to discuss how advanced analytical instrumentation supports discovery in catalysis, energy materials, pharmaceuticals, MOFs, and porous adsorbents.
Thank You for Connecting With AMI
We thank everyone who visited Booth 39 and connected with the AMI and STOE teams in Calgary. The conversations, questions, and ideas exchanged at IUCr 2026 continue to shape how we develop instruments that serve the global structural science community.
